Taking PTO

Official Policy: Flexible Time Away (FTA)
- Eligibility:
- Exempt employees regularly working 30+ hours per week are eligible for Flexible Time Away (FTA).
- FTA Description:
- FTA is unlimited paid time off, allowing employees to maintain work-life balance without explicit or implicit limits on time off.
- Purpose:
- FTA is not compensation but reflects a culture of trust, empowering employees to manage their time while meeting team commitments.
- Accountability:
- Employees and supervisors share accountability for workload management and ensuring coverage during FTA, except for sick leave.
- Request Process:
- Employees must submit FTA requests in advance (at least 3 days), unless unforeseeable (e.g., unexpected illness). Prompt communication is expected with an estimated date of return in the case of unforeseeable and foreseeable circumstances. Without communication of an estimated date of return, you have 3 days to communicate or else it will be considered a termination of employment with the Company.
- Usage:
- FTA can be used for any reason, including Paid Sick Leave Reasons, with rights and protections consistent with state and local laws.
- Extended Absences:
- Employees sick for more than five days (or per applicable laws) may need alternative leave; hospitalized or out for seven days, consider State Disability Insurance.
- Termination Notice:
- FTA can be used during the notice period, up to the time provided by state and local paid sick leave laws.
- Leaves Not Covered:
- FTA does not apply concurrently with specific leaves, including jury duty, bereavement, military, disability, workers' compensation, parental leave, and others.
- Contact HR:
- Employees on qualifying leaves or uncertain about FTA applicability should contact Kathryn
- Unused Time Off:
- No payment for unused FTA upon termination, as no time off accrues under this policy.
Observed Holidays
If the company or department has a closure for holidays, the team will be paid holiday pay. Additionally, we celebrate diversity, so if you see a cultural holiday that is not listed share and we can recognize it.
